Under the PM Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, which focuses on the welfare of the girl child, Puducherry has witnessed a remarkable 40% increase in the subscriber base. The UT now boasts 87,000 subscribers, a substantial rise from the 61,983 subscribers recorded in February 2023. This surge in participation highlights the success of the special saturation drive in creating awareness and encouraging more families to avail the benefits of this scheme. Kisan Credit Card Scheme Empowers Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Fisheries Sectors
The Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Scheme has significantly benefited the agricultural, animal husbandry, and fisheries sectors in Puducherry. The UT now boasts more than 20,861 beneficiaries, representing a growth of nearly 37% in just four months. In February 2023, the number of beneficiaries stood at 15,140. Among the beneficiaries, 4,119 are under KCC (Fisheries) and 4,036 are under KCC (Animal Husbandry). The KCC Scheme provides farmers and those involved in the allied sectors with easy access to credit, helping them enhance their productivity and improve their livelihoods.
Higher Enrollments in PMSBY and PMJJBY Schemes
Puducherry has witnessed an increase in enrollments under the PM Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY). In PMSBY, the number of enrolments has risen to 3.44 lakh, up from 2.98 lahks in February 2023. The Special Saturation Drive has added 46,246 beneficiaries, contributing to the significant growth. Additionally, PMJJBY has seen an increase in beneficiaries, with the number rising to more than 1.42 lakh, compared to 1.27 lakh in February 2023. Puducherry’s higher enrollment figures in these schemes demonstrate the growing awareness and participation of its residents, ensuring better financial security and protection.
