Union Home Minister presides over Chintan Shivir for IPS officers of CAPFs and NSG.

On a significant day in New Delhi, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah presided over a Chintan Shivir, a brainstorming session, focused on the Indian Police Service (IPS) officers serving in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) & the National Security Guard (NSG). The session aimed to discuss various topics pertinent to the forces, ranging from border security and capacity building to police-public relations and welfare measures. The event witnessed the participation of esteemed dignitaries, including Union Ministers of State for Home Affairs, senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, and key stakeholders.

Strengthening Police Administration: The Key to National Progress

In his address, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah emphasized the crucial role of a strong police administration in maintaining law and order and ensuring the progress of a nation. He acknowledged the efforts of the Government of India, led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, in strengthening the police administration system, making it people-oriented, and meeting the expectations of the common citizens in terms of safety and security.

The Government’s Commitment to People-Oriented Police Administration

The Home Minister highlighted the valuable contributions of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) in maintaining internal law and order, safeguarding borders, facilitating fair elections, conducting relief and rescue operations during disasters, and protecting strategically important institutions and monuments across the country. He expressed his appreciation for the dedication and vigilance displayed by CAPF personnel, which enables citizens to feel safe and secure.

Central Armed Police Forces: Safeguarding the Nation’s Interests

Shri Amit Shah acknowledged that although each CAPF has distinct roles and responsibilities based on their geographic areas, they face similar challenges and require a unified approach. He emphasized the need for a positive approach to addressing common issues such as border security, capacity building, and law enforcement.

Ensuring Welfare and Security for CAPF Personnel

The Home Minister reaffirmed the Modi government’s commitment to the welfare of CAPF personnel. He commended the steps taken to provide adequate facilities and support for the personnel and their families to ensure the smooth performance of their duties. Shri Amit Shah stressed the importance of a sensitive approach towards the families of Jawans and encouraged the promotion of sports activities among CAPF personnel.

Focus on Border Security and Vigilance

Recognizing the criticality of border security, the Union Home Minister highlighted the need for utmost vigilance to prevent infiltration, smuggling of drugs and arms, and other illicit activities. He stressed the importance of coordination between law enforcement agencies, local administration, and the IPS officers responsible for maintaining border security.

Strengthening Coordination and Communication in Border Areas

Shri Amit Shah underscored the significance of the Vibrant Village Program, initiated under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, aimed at fostering development and creating employment opportunities in border areas. He emphasized the need for regular contact and communication with every border village and its residents to enhance the security of the borders.

Promoting Local Products and Employment Opportunities in Border Areas

To bolster employment opportunities in border areas and curb migration, the Union Home Minister called for the promotion of local products by all CAPFs. Encouraging the purchase of locally made goods, he emphasized its potential to boost employment while enhancing the security of the borders.

The Welfare of Jawans and the Importance of Sports

Shri Amit Shah highlighted the importance of welfare measures for Jawans and stressed the need for a sensitive approach toward their families. He called upon all CAPFs to prepare national-level sports teams and ensure that Jawans have dedicated time for sports activities. He emphasized that this not only improves their physical and mental well-being but also strengthens their connection with the motherland.

Ayushman CAPF Scheme: Ensuring Health and Well-being

The Union Home Minister commended the Ayushman CAPF scheme initiated by the Modi government, which aims to provide comprehensive healthcare to Jawans. Shri Amit Shah emphasized the importance of obtaining feedback from Jawans to further refine the scheme and suggested extending free treatment facilities to the general public in all CAPF hospitals.

Environmental Consciousness and Sustainability Initiatives

To enhance environmental consciousness among Jawans, Shri Shah proposed that each Jawan adopt at least five trees. This measure not only contributes to a cleaner environment but also increases sensitivity towards nature and ecological sustainability.

Swift Allotment of Houses and Streamlining Procedures

In order to expedite the welfare measures for CAPF personnel, Shri Amit Shah directed that all constructed houses should be allotted by November of the current year. He also emphasized the need to ensure future house allotments through the e-Awas portal within two months. This streamlined process would enable prompt and efficient allocation of housing facilities.
