Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to Confer Awards at 68th Railway Week Central Function

In a celebration of excellence and dedication, Union Minister of Railways, Communications & Electronics, and Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, is all set to confer prestigious awards and shields to commendable railway personnel and organizations at the upcoming 68th Railway Week Central Function – Ati Vishist Rail Seva Puraskar-2023. The grand event is scheduled to take place on December 15, 2023, at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

The awards ceremony will be a platform to recognize and appreciate the best practices promoted by railway employees, contributing significantly to the efficiency and overall improvement of the railway system. Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw’s gesture of conferring awards aims to encourage a culture of excellence and dedication among railway personnel, fostering a commitment to the highest standards of service.

A highlight of the ceremony will be the presentation of shields to Zonal Railways and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) for their exceptional performance in specific fields. This acknowledgment serves as a testament to the collective efforts and commitment demonstrated by these entities in ensuring excellence within the railway sector.

The esteemed event will witness the presence of distinguished guests, including the Minister of State for Railways, Coal & Mines, Shri Raosaheb Patil Danve, and the Minister of State for Railways & Textile, Smt. Darshana Jardosh will be the guest of honor. The event will be graced by the presence of the Chairman & CEO and Members of the Railway Board, General Managers from all Zonal Railways, and leaders of Production Units in both Railways and Railway Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).

Altogether, 100 railway employees from various Zonal Railways, Production Units, and Railway PSUs across the country will be recognized and awarded for their outstanding services. Additionally, 21 shields will be presented to highlight the commendable achievements of Zonal Railways and PSUs in their respective fields.

The Railway Week celebrated annually from April 10th to 16th, holds historical significance as it commemorates the running of the first train in India on April 16, 1853. During this week, various functions are organized across Indian Railways, emphasizing the importance of the railway sector in the nation’s development.

The 68th Railway Week Central Function promises to be a momentous occasion, showcasing the dedication, innovation, and outstanding contributions of railway personnel and organizations.
