Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav, took a significant step in advancing healthcare facilities for workers across the country. During the 191st meeting of the ESI Corporation at ESIC Headquarters in New Delhi, the Union Minister inaugurated Chemotherapy Services in 30 ESIC Hospitals, aligning with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of comprehensive welfare for the working class in India’s transformative era.
Enhancing Cancer Treatment Accessibility
With the introduction of in-house Chemotherapy Services, insured workers and their dependents are set to receive improved cancer treatment with greater ease. This proactive measure addresses a crucial healthcare need and reinforces the commitment to enhancing the well-being of the working population.
Empowering Monitoring with Technology
In addition to launching Chemotherapy Services, Shri Yadav also inaugurated a Control Room equipped with Dashboards for ESIC. These dashboards will play a pivotal role in efficiently monitoring essential resources and bed availability at ESIC hospitals. Furthermore, they will provide real-time updates on ongoing construction projects, contributing to better hospital management and overall service delivery.
Advancing Medical Education
Shri Bhupender Yadav underscored the importance of skilled medical professionals in ESIC Hospitals and affirmed the commitment to further develop medical education within the organization. Plans are underway to establish new ESIC Medical Colleges and Hospitals to meet the growing need for medical expertise.
Key Decisions and Initiatives
The 191st ESI Corporation meeting was marked by discussions and decisions aimed at enhancing Medical Care Services, Administration, and Financial Matters. The meeting also saw in-principle approval for setting up 15 new ESI Hospitals and 78 ESI Dispensaries, as well as increasing bed capacity at ESIC Hospital, Beltola, Assam, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, K. K. Nagar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Faridabad, Haryana.
Promoting Capacity Development
The event also witnessed the release of significant documents including the Citizen Charter, Manual of Audit & Accounts of ESIC, Referral Policy, and Equipment Policy. Shri Yadav extended his appreciation to 5 iGoT learners of ESIC who excelled on the iGOT (Karmyogi Bharat) learning platform. The platform is designed to foster capacity development within civil services.
