Dr. Mandaviya expressed confidence in the National Training Centre of FSSAI, emphasizing that the professionals trained there would play a crucial role in creating healthy citizens. The center’s objective is to ensure adherence to quality food standards across the country. The Minister also addressed the challenge of food adulteration, affirming FSSAI’s commitment to tackling this issue effectively.
The National Training Centre: Bridging the Knowledge Gap for a Future-Ready Workforce:
The National Training Centre, mandated by the FSS Act 2006 and the Food Safety and Standards Rules, 2011, aims to bridge the gap between existing knowledge or skills and desired knowledge or skills in the field of food safety & standards. The center offers various training programs to individuals involved in food businesses, promoting continuous skill upgrading and contributing to the development of a competent workforce.
Launch of E-Learning App and Books: Enhancing Food Safety Awareness:
During the event, FSSAI launched an e-learning app called Food Safety and Certification (FoSTaC), designed to provide learning and training modules on food safety guidelines, specifically targeting street vendors. Additionally, FSSAI released two books: “Millets (Shree Anna) Recipes – A Healthy Menu for Mess/Canteens” and “Healthy Gut, Healthy You – Traditional Recipes with Potential Probiotic Benefits.” These initiatives aim to enhance food safety awareness and provide valuable resources to food business operators and individuals seeking information on nutritious food options.
