Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Allocates Funds for National Highways Projects

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, has sanctioned Rs. 3549.48 crore for the construction & strengthening of several (NH) National Highways projects in Madhya Pradesh. Among these, an allocation of Rs. 776.19 crore has been earmarked for the 4-lining of a 41 km section of National Highway-146 B, spanning Shahganj Bypass end to Badi Package-IV, in Sehore and Raisen districts. The project, executed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode, aims to enhance connectivity between Jabalpur, Bhopal, Betul, and Indore cities, facilitating smoother travel and reducing commute time.

Speaking on the significance of the project, Nitin Gadkari emphasized its role in linking urban nodes via the National Highway (NH) and State Highway (SH) networks, as well as other important city roads. Furthermore, the construction of bypasses along National Highways and State Highways is expected to mitigate accidents by channeling commercial traffic away from populated areas.

Additionally, an allocation of Rs. 1238.59 crore has been sanctioned for the development of 6-lane service roads on both sides of the Ayodhya bypass, stretching from Asharam Tiraha on National Highway-46 to Ratnagiri Tiraha on National Highway-146 in Bhopal. This initiative, operating under the hybrid annuity mode, aims to enhance safety and efficiency along the bypass route, catering to the growing traffic demands in the region.

The approval of funds by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari underscores the government’s commitment to bolstering infrastructure and promoting seamless connectivity across Madhya Pradesh. These investments not only facilitate economic growth but also prioritize road safety measures, ensuring safer and more efficient travel experiences for residents and commuters alike.
