Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Approves ₹292.65 Cr Project in Jharkhand

Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, recently announced the approval of Rs 292.65 crore for the Four-laning of Tower Chowk to Basukinath section of National Highway 114A in Jharkhand’s Dumka district. This significant allocation under the Hybrid Annuity Scheme (HAS) is aimed at enhancing connectivity and easing traffic congestion in the region.

In his post, Minister Nitin Gadkari highlighted the importance of this project in facilitating transportation to important religious sites such as Deoghar and Basukinath. He emphasized that the existing carriageway is insufficient to handle the traffic influx during events like the Shravani Mela, where devotees flock to these revered destinations. Therefore, upgrading the existing 2-lane roads to four lanes is imperative to reduce congestion and promote the social and economic development of the area.

The approval of this project underscores the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and connectivity in Jharkhand, thereby facilitating smoother movement of people and goods. It is expected to not only enhance accessibility to religious sites but also contribute to the overall development of the region.

The initiative reflects the government’s proactive approach towards addressing the infrastructure needs of the country, particularly in areas of religious and cultural significance. With improved road networks, the project aims to create a conducive environment for economic growth and prosperity in Jharkhand.

Minister Nitin Gadkari’s announcement has been met with enthusiasm and optimism, as it heralds a new era of enhanced connectivity and development in Dumka district. The project is poised to benefit not only the local residents but also pilgrims and tourists visiting the region, further cementing Jharkhand’s position as a hub of religious and cultural tourism in India.
