The government of Uttar Pradesh has announced significant strides in enhancing public safety through the Safe City Mission. Principal secretaries of the Home and Urban Development departments have reviewed the progress, noting the integration of more than 400,000 CCTV cameras into Command-and-Control Centres across 17 municipal corporations.

Kanpur and Lucknow have emerged as leaders in connectivity, ensuring continuous surveillance capabilities aimed at safeguarding citizens. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for proactive monitoring and rapid response to incidents.

The extensive CCTV network is designed to monitor public spaces effectively, aiding law enforcement in crime prevention and enhancing overall security measures. The government’s efforts aim to create safer urban environments where residents feel protected and secure.
