The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced a change in the date of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024. Initially scheduled for 26 May, the exam will now be conducted on 16 June, following the Lok Sabha elections slated from April to June 2024.
Notification for numerous vacancies was released, with UPSC issuing notifications for 1506 vacancies for the Civil Services Examination and 150 vacancies for the Indian Foreign Officers Service. The examination process consists of three stages: prelims, mains, and personality tests.
UPSC released the notification for the prelims examination of the Civil Services Exam on 14 February, initially setting the exam date as 26 May. However, in light of the elections, UPSC has decided to postpone the exam to 16 June 2024. Candidates will be duly informed about the admit card and other examination-related guidelines in due course.
The UPSC examination is conducted annually, attracting a large number of candidates aspiring for various civil service positions across ministries and departments of the Government of India. Widely regarded as one of the most challenging examinations globally, the UPSC CSE comprises three phases: preliminary, main, and personality tests.
