Uttar Pradesh Emerges as Export Hub with ‘One District, One Product’ Scheme, Says CM Yogi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the transformative impact of the ‘One District, One Product’ (ODOP) scheme on the state’s economic landscape, positioning it as a burgeoning export hub and a source of substantial employment opportunities. The Chief Minister made these remarks while inaugurating the Uttar Pradesh pavilion at the Indian International Trade Fair (IITF).

Addressing reporters, Chief Minister Adityanath highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s remarkable journey from being categorized as a ‘sick’ state, along with Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, to its current status as a revenue-surplus state. He underscored the state’s pivotal role as the engine of growth for the country, attributing this transformation to the success of initiatives like ODOP.

The ODOP scheme, which focuses on promoting unique products from each district, has played a crucial role in diversifying the state’s economic activities and fostering entrepreneurship at the district level. Chief Minister Adityanath mentioned that the scheme has not only contributed to the economic development of individual districts but has also propelled Uttar Pradesh onto the national and international stage as a key player in various sectors.

During the Uttar Pradesh Investors Summit held in February, the state received investment proposals exceeding Rs 38 lakh crore, showcasing a strong vote of confidence from the business community. Adityanath highlighted this as a testament to the state’s attractiveness for investment and its growing stature as an economic powerhouse.

In addition to showcasing the ODOP scheme, the Uttar Pradesh Pavilion at IITF aims to exhibit the state’s commitment to infrastructural development. This demonstration aligns with the vision of creating a ‘New Uttar Pradesh’ that contributes significantly to the realization of ‘New India.’

As Uttar Pradesh continues its trajectory of economic growth and development, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s emphasis on the success of the ODOP scheme underscores the state’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, boosting exports, and creating a conducive environment for investment and employment generation.
