Uttar Pradesh’s Special 2-Month Mission: Yogi Government’s Campaign for Cows

The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has taken a significant step towards the welfare and protection of destitute cows with the launch of a special campaign that will span two months, commencing on November 1 and concluding on December 31. This proactive initiative underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring that no bovine creature is left vulnerable or uncared for.

Ensuring Comprehensive Care

To guarantee the success of this vital campaign, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued strict directives to officials, emphasizing the need for comprehensive arrangements to safeguard the destitute cattle. The campaign aims to address various critical aspects, including:

  1. Fodder and Chaff: Ensuring an adequate and continuous supply of nutritious food to the cows.
  2. Shelter: Providing secure tin sheds to protect the cattle from harsh weather conditions.
  3. Water Supply: Ensuring a regular supply of clean drinking water for the cows.
  4. Electricity: Provision of electricity supply for the comfort and safety of the animals.
  5. Medical Treatment: Offering essential medical care to address the health needs of the cattle.

An Action Plan in Mission Mode

The government is leaving no room for systemic deficiencies at any level of the campaign. All officials have been instructed to work in mission mode, ensuring that every detail is attended to. The protection and welfare of these animals are of paramount importance.

Speeding Up the Campaign

To give the campaign added momentum, the state BJP government has laid out a strategic plan. Team 9 officials are set to accelerate the efforts by meeting with Divisional Commissioners in their respective divisions from November 7 to 9. Additionally, the campaign will undergo a thorough review by Special Secretary-level officers, who will visit all 75 districts of the state from November 21 to 23. This oversight ensures that the campaign stays on track and that every destitute cow is taken care of.

Constructing Cow Shelters

The construction of cow protection centers and cow shelter sites will be expedited, with a focus on expansion. A crucial meeting at the Directorate on October 18 will provide guidance to all Chief Veterinary Officers across the state regarding the campaign. This concerted effort aims to ensure that ample shelters are available for the destitute cattle.

Combating Lumpy Disease

As part of the campaign, special attention will be given to animals suffering from Lumpy Disease. Adequate treatment and a rapid vaccination campaign will be executed to address this health concern among the cattle population.

The Yogi Adityanath-led government’s special campaign for the protection of destitute cows underscores the importance of animal welfare and the government’s commitment to ensuring their well-being. This initiative is a positive step towards preserving the dignity and care of these vulnerable animals in Uttar Pradesh.
