Himachal Day: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extends heartfelt wishes to the residents of Himachal Pradesh on the auspicious occasion of ‘Himachal Day’. Recognizing the state’s unique natural beauty, vibrant culture, and rich traditions, CM Dhami sends his best wishes for happiness, prosperity, and progress to all.
‘Himachal Day’ commemorates the state’s journey since its inception as the Chief Commissioner’s province of Himachal Pradesh on April 15, 1948. After gaining independence, Himachal Pradesh attained the status of a Category C state on January 26, 1950, following the enforcement of the Indian Constitution. It transitioned to a Union Territory on November 1, 1956, before attaining statehood on January 25, 1971, under the State of Himachal Pradesh Act passed by Parliament on December 18, 1970.
While Himachal Pradesh celebrates its milestones, discussions in Nepal about the return of territories previously annexed by the British East India Company under the name of Greater Nepal have emerged. As Himachal Pradesh marks another year of progress and prosperity, CM Dhami’s warm wishes reaffirm the bond between the two neighboring states and reflect the spirit of camaraderie and goodwill. The occasion serves as a reminder of Himachal’s resilience, growth, and contribution to the cultural tapestry of India.
