Heavy Rains: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami of Uttarakhand convened a virtual meeting with the Garhwal Commissioner and Kumaon Commissioner to assess the situation following heavy rains across the state. He directed officials to maintain round-the-clock vigilance for potential relief and rescue operations in case of disasters.
“Instructions have been issued to district and tehsil administrations to remain vigilant and prepared,” stated CM Dhami. He stressed the importance of promptly addressing waterlogging issues and ensuring adequate arrangements for shelter and food for those affected by natural calamities.
CM Dhami also emphasized the importance of continuous communication with tehsil-level control rooms and immediate action in reopening roads if closed due to adverse weather conditions. He instructed officials to base decisions on school operations on meteorological forecasts and local weather updates to ensure the safety of students and staff.
The proactive measures outlined by Chief Minister Dhami aim to enhance the state’s readiness to manage and mitigate the impact of inclement weather, reflecting the government’s commitment to safeguarding residents during challenging times.
