Vice-President Addresses 50th Foundation Day of IP&TAFS in New Delhi

The Vice-President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, presided over the 50th Foundation Day Programme of the Indian Posts & Telecommunications Accounts and Finance Service (IP&TAFS) at ICWA, New Delhi. The event commemorated the institution’s five-decade journey and its pivotal role in India’s digital transformation.

Harnessing Technology and Balancing Innovation

Addressing the gathering, Shri Dhankhar emphasized adopting artificial intelligence-powered audit systems while ensuring human oversight for critical decisions.

“Self-audit and an audit beyond self are essential for accountability,” he said, underscoring the importance of balancing innovation with stability to maintain India’s digital leadership and create opportunities for the youth.

Democracy and Dialogue

Addressing institutional challenges, the Vice-President remarked, “The decline of meaningful dialogue and genuine expression poses a significant impact on democracy.”

Harmony between expression and communication is essential for success.” The Vice-President emphasized the importance of cultivating humility, stating, “Ego benefits no one; it only harms the person who harbors it.”

Prominent Dignitaries in Attendance

The event saw the presence of Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Hon’ble Minister of Communication and Development of North Eastern Region, and Shri Manish Sinha, Member Finance, Digital Communications Commission, among other dignitaries, who lauded IP&TAFS’s contributions to India’s communication and financial ecosystem.
