Hon’ble Vice-President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, who is also the ex-officio Chancellor of Panjab University, presided over the Inaugural Session of the 5th Global Alumni Meet 2024 in Chandigarh today. The event brought together alumni from around the world, highlighting the university’s global impact and the strong bonds between the institution and its graduates.
A Tribute to Late Mothers
During the visit, Vice-President Dhankhar, alongside Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, honored the memory of their late mothers, Smt. Kesari Devi & Smt. Bhagwati Devi, by planting saplings at the Panjab University premises. The gesture symbolized respect for their mothers and contributed to the ongoing green initiatives at the university.

Upon their arrival in Chandigarh, Vice-President Dhankhar and Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar were warmly welcomed by Shri Barinder Kumar Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of the Government of Punjab, Shri Shyam Singh Rana, Hon’ble Minister of the Government of Haryana, and other distinguished dignitaries.
