Vice-President to Visit Maharashtra, Puducherry, and Tamil Nadu on 28-29 January

In a significant diplomatic and cultural initiative, the Vice-President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, is set to embark on a two-day tour, spanning Mumbai (Maharashtra), Puducherry, and Cuddalore (Tamil Nadu), on January 28-29, 2024.

The first day of the Vice-President’s tour will be marked by his participation in the Closing Ceremony of the 84th Conference of Presiding Officers of Legislative Bodies of India. This prestigious event will take place at the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The vice president is expected to address the gathering, shedding light on key legislative matters and fostering cooperation among the diverse legislative bodies in the country.

Later in the day, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar will engage with the academic community, particularly the students of Pondicherry University. The interaction is centered around the theme “VIKSIT BHARAT@2047,” providing a platform for insightful discussions on the envisioned development and progress of India by the year 2047. On the second day of his tour, the Vice-President will embark on a spiritual journey in the Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu. The itinerary includes offering prayers and seeking darshan at prominent temples, namely Shri Thillai Natarajar Temple, Babaji Temple, and Sri Ellai Amman Temple. This cultural and religious exploration underscores the Vice-President’s commitment to appreciating the rich tapestry of India’s diverse heritage and fostering unity among its people.
