India’s opening contest of Asia Cup 2022 will feature Virat Kohli playing in his 100th T20I. Kohli has been itching to make a strong comeback against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday in Dubai after being out of touch for a long time now.
AB de Villiers, Kohli’s good friend and teammate on Royal Challengers Bangalore, sent a message to Kohli on the eve of the big game.
Virat Kohli received a heart-warming message from AB de Villiers on his 100th T20I captaincy for the IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2022.
De Villiers, who is currently in England, took to Twitter to congratulate his Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate on the achievement.
“Congratulations on your 100th T20I as captain @imVkohli. It’s been an absolute pleasure and privilege to play under your captaincy,” de Villiers tweeted.
Kohli, who is the most successful captain in T20I cricket, led India to a convincing victory over Pakistan in the opening match of the Asia Cup.
The Indian skipper has been in phenomenal form in the shortest format of the game, scoring runs at will.
Kohli is the leading run-scorer in T20I cricket, with 2,791 runs from 99 matches.
He is also the leading wicket-taker in T20I cricket, with 73 wickets from 99 matches.
Kohli will be looking to continue his good form in the Asia Cup, and lead India to victory in the tournament.
