Tawde, born on July 20, 1963, is a senior leader of the BJP and has played a pivotal role in Maharashtra’s political landscape.

Vinod Tawde’s contributions to the BJP and the state of Maharashtra are noteworthy. He has served as the General Secretary for the Maharashtra unit, President for Mumbai, a member of the All India National Executive Council, and a key coordination committee member for the 12th and 13th Lok Sabha Elections. Tawde’s extensive political career also includes his tenure as the minister for School Education, Higher and Technical Education, Sports and Youth Welfare, Minority Development, and Marathi Language and Culture. This is his third consecutive term as a Member of the Legislative Council of Maharashtra. Before this, he was the Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council.

Born in the Girangaon area of Bombay (now Mumbai), Tawde hails from a Maratha family. His educational background includes a Higher Secondary School Certificate from Sathaye College (formerly Parle College) and a vocational course from Dnyaneshwar Vidyapeeth, Pune, an educational trust providing technical training. Despite not holding a formal degree, Tawde’s career reflects his dedication and significant contributions to education and public service in Maharashtra.
