Indian actor Vivek Anand Oberoi, born 3 September 1976, predominantly appears in Hindi films. He has also appeared in some films in the Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil languages. After debuting with Ram Gopal Varma’s gangster drama Company (2002), he won two Filmfare Awards.
Early life:
Suresh Oberoi, a veteran character actor, is the Punjabi father of Vivek Oberoi, who was born in Hyderabad, Telangana. Suresh married Yashodhara in Chennai in 1974. He describes her as “a girl from a Punjabi business family who had lived in the south”.
Vivek Oberoi is fluent in Tamil because his mother’s family was assimilated in the region. Vivek Oberoi studied at Mayo College, Ajmer and Mithibai College, Mumbai. He completed his master’s degree in film acting after being spotted by the director of New York University at an actors’ workshop in London and being taken to New York. Vivek worked as a scriptwriter in India.
