Delhi – ‘Vividdhta ka Amrit Mahotsav’: The inaugural ‘Vividdhta ka Amrit Mahotsav’ at Rashtrapati Bhavan commenced with a grand celebration of Northeast India’s diverse cultural legacy. President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the event, joined by Minister G. Kishan Reddy, lauding the region’s progress under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
Minister Reddy expressed gratitude for President Murmu’s unwavering support, emphasizing the Northeast’s elevation as a national priority since 2014. He underscored the government’s commitment to erasing distances and unlocking the region’s vast potential, fostering connectivity and prosperity.
Minister Kiren Rijiju highlighted the Northeast’s remarkable transformation in the past decade, igniting hope and aspirations among its people. The presence of Governors and Chief Ministers from all eight states added grandeur to the occasion.
With over 320 stalls showcasing handicrafts, handlooms, and agro products, the Mahotsav captivated visitors with the Northeast’s cultural splendor. The Geographical Indication Pavilion proudly displayed unique products like Muga Silk and Wangkhei Phee, celebrating the region’s diverse heritage.
Live demonstrations of traditional craftsmanship, including mask-making and silk extraction, provided a glimpse into the region’s rich artistic traditions. Cultural performances by artists from all eight states mesmerized attendees, with more to come in the following days.
The gastronomic delights of Northeast cuisine delighted visitors, while the Kids Activity Zone and Youth Engagement Zone buzzed with excitement, offering creative experiences rooted in the region’s history and culture.
