Weather Alert and Rainfall Forecast: September 7th – 13th

Weather Alert: A well-marked low-pressure system currently positioned over the northwest and central Bay of Bengal is expected to strengthen into a depression by September 8th. It is likely to move across Gangetic West Bengal, northern Odisha, Jharkhand, and northern Chhattisgarh, resulting in heavy rainfall across these areas. The monsoon trough remains south of its usual position, while a cyclonic circulation over central Rajasthan will also impact rainfall patterns.

West & Central India:

West and Central India are forecasted to experience widespread light to moderate rainfall. Heavy downpours are expected in the ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra on September 8th and 9th, and Vidarbha on September 12th. Rainfall is also likely in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, and Konkan & Goa over the next week.

Weather Alert: South Peninsular India:

Southern regions will see widespread rainfall, particularly Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Hefty showers are expected in Coastal Andhra Pradesh on September 8th, while heavy rainfall will affect Kerala, Mahe, Telangana, and parts of Karnataka throughout the week.

Weather Alert: East & Northeast India:

Northeast India will experience widespread rain, particularly in Assam, Meghalaya, and the surrounding states. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Odisha from September 8th to 10th, while Assam and Meghalaya are likely to experience similar conditions between September 10th and 12th. The region will remain under rainy conditions throughout the week.

Northwest India: Weather Alert

In the coming days, Northwest India will see scattered light to moderate rainfall, with isolated heavy showers in East Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. East Rajasthan, in particular, will experience heavy rains from September 7th to 9th.
