A cyclonic circulation over north Bihar, along with a trough extending to north Odisha, promises scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over West Bengal & Sikkim. Similar conditions extend to Bihar and Jharkhand. Odisha is likely to experience isolated to scattered rainfall until May 14th, with heavy rainfall anticipated on the 11th.

Northeast India:

Cyclonic circulations over northeast Assam bring rainfall to Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura. Heavy rainfall is expected in Assam and Meghalaya on May 10th.

Central India:

Central Madhya Pradesh sees a cyclonic circulation, with associated troughs leading to scattered rainfall over Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Chhattisgarh. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are anticipated in Madhya Pradesh until May 13th, with hailstorms likely in various regions.

Southern India:

South Kerala experiences a cyclonic circulation, triggering rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, and Telangana. Coastal Karnataka anticipates heavy rainfall from May 11th to 13th, while Kerala and Mahe expect scattered to widespread rainfall until May 13th.

North India:

Iran and northwest Rajasthan influence weather patterns in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, leading to scattered to fairly widespread rainfall until May 13th. Hailstorms are expected in several regions, along with isolated heavy rainfall in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad on May 12th.

Temperature Observations and Forecasts:

Areas with maximum temperatures exceeding 40°C include parts of West Rajasthan, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and south Haryana & Telangana. Temperatures are expected to remain above normal in various regions.

Warnings:

Heat wave conditions are forecasted in isolated pockets of West Rajasthan on May 10th, 2024. Additionally, hot and humid weather is expected in coastal parts of Saurashtra & Kutch, and Kerala.
