As the monsoon season continues its course across India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather forecasts and warnings for various regions of the country. From Northwest India to the Northeast, different parts of the country are expected to experience a range of weather conditions over the coming days. Here’s a breakdown of the forecasted weather for different regions:

Northwest India:

Anticipate light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms, covering a fairly extensive area. Isolated heavy falls are likely over Uttarakhand during this period, with southwest Uttar Pradesh experiencing similar conditions on the 15th and 16th. From the 15th to the 18th of September, southeast Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan should prepare for rainfall and thunderstorms.

Central India:

East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, West Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh are in line for light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning. Isolated heavy rainfall is predicted for these regions. Chhattisgarh, in particular, should be cautious on the 14th, and East Madhya Pradesh on the 14th and 15th. West Madhya Pradesh can expect such conditions on the 15th and 16th, and Vidarbha from the 14th to the 16th of September.

East India:

Odisha, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands should anticipate light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and isolated heavy rainfall. An isolated extremely heavy rainfall event is likely over Odisha on the 14th of September.

South India:

Telangana is expected to experience light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, with isolated heavy rainfall on the 14th and 15th of September.

West India:

Konkan & Goa, the ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada should be prepared for light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in isolated places in these areas. Additionally, Gujarat Region should brace for similar conditions from the 16th to the 18th of September. Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada may experience isolated very heavy rainfall during the same period.

Northeast India:

Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura are expected to witness light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and isolated heavy rainfall on the 14th of September.
