Additionally, a shear zone extends over north peninsular India in the middle levels, tilting southwards with height. A cyclonic circulation is observed over the west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off the north Andhra Pradesh coast, both in lower and middle tropospheric levels, tilting southwestwards with height. Moreover, an off-shore trough at mean sea level runs along the south Gujarat-north Kerala coasts.
