Weather: Over the next five days, various weather systems are expected to impact different parts of India. In east-central and east India, influenced by an anticyclone over the north Bay of Bengal, isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall is forecasted on February 15th, 2024, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. This activity is expected to subside thereafter, resulting in dry weather.
“Meanwhile, a fresh active Western Disturbance is anticipated to affect several regions from February 17th to 21st, 2024. In the Western Himalayan Region, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall and snowfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning, are expected”.
Over the plains of Northwest India, isolated to scattered rainfall is forecasted during this period. However, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand may experience widespread light to moderate rainfall and snowfall, with isolated instances of heavy rainfall and snowfall on specific dates.
“Furthermore, dense fog conditions are likely to prevail in isolated pockets of Bihar and Jharkhand on February 16th, 2024, during the morning hours”.
