The upcoming weather forecast for the next five days indicates significant weather systems impacting various regions across India. Two Western Disturbances are expected to influence northwest India, with the first one forecasted to affect the region from the night of 10th March and the second one from the night of 12th March.
Affected by these systems, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh are expected to experience isolated light to moderate rainfall and snowfall on 10th March. Subsequently, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall and snowfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning are expected over the region from the 11th to 14th of March.
During the same period, Uttarakhand is also expected to encounter isolated instances of light to moderate rainfall and snowfall. Meanwhile, Punjab, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh are likely to witness isolated to scattered rainfall from the 12th to the 14th of March.
Strong surface winds, ranging from 25-35 kmph, are expected over the plains of Northwest India, excluding south Rajasthan, on 9th March. In addition, isolated rainfall is forecasted over Odisha on the 9th and 10th of March, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on the 9th of March.
A trough in westerlies is anticipated to run roughly along Long. 92°E to the north of Lat. 25°N in lower tropospheric levels, leading to isolated light rainfall/snowfall over Arunachal Pradesh in the next 7 days. Additionally, isolated light rainfall is likely over Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during 13th to 15th March.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather is expected to prevail over Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Kerala for the next 3 days, with day temperatures likely to be above normal by 2-3°C.
