The weather forecast for various regions across India presents a diverse picture, with significant rainfall predicted in some areas and warnings of heatwave conditions in others.
In northeastern states such as Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is expected over the next 4-5 days. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecasted for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura on specific dates, along with isolated heavy rainfall in Sikkim and parts of West Bengal, Tripura, and north Tamil Nadu.
Similarly, in northern regions including Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh, isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall or snowfall is anticipated, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
However, certain areas such as West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, and West Rajasthan may experience isolated very light/light rainfall, while strong surface winds are expected over Uttar Pradesh, south Rajasthan, and Haryana & Delhi on specific dates.
Southern states like Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, and Kerala are likely to witness isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall, with thunderstorms and lightning over the specified periods.
In terms of temperatures, maximum temperatures have soared in some parts of Odisha, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, significantly above normal levels.
Warnings of heatwave conditions have been issued for various regions, with maximum temperatures expected to reach 44-47°C in Gangetic West Bengal, East Jharkhand, north Odisha, and Rayalaseema, and heatwave conditions persisting in other areas including Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu.
Additionally, hot and humid weather is anticipated in Coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, and Konkan over the specified period.
