Weather Forecast: Rainfall and Thunderstorms Alert Across India

Weather: Over the next five days, India is set to experience a diverse range of weather conditions due to the influence of various weather systems across different regions.

In the Western Himalayan Region, a fresh Western Disturbance is expected to bring isolated to scattered light rainfall and snowfall on the 26th and 27th of February. Thunderstorms and lightning are also forecasted over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Himachal Pradesh on 26th February.

Another active Western Disturbance is anticipated to affect the Western Himalayan Region from 29th February to 4th March, with peak intensity on 2nd and 3rd March. This system is likely to bring heavy rainfall and snowfall to the region, accompanied by high moisture feeding from the Arabian Sea to northwest India.

“Moving towards the northeastern parts of India, a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies is expected to result in isolated to scattered rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during the forecast period”.

In central and southern India, troughs in both lower and middle tropospheric levels are forecasted to bring isolated to scattered rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds, and hailstorms to various states including Chhattisgarh, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Telangana, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh.

Meanwhile, hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Rayalaseema on specific dates mentioned.

As these weather systems unfold over the next five days, residents and travelers need to stay updated on local forecasts and heed any warnings issued by meteorological departments to ensure safety and preparedness amidst changing weather conditions.
