The upcoming days bring a dynamic mix of weather systems and forecasts across different regions of India. From Western Disturbances to troughs in lower tropospheric levels, here’s what to anticipate in the next 5 days:

Western Disturbance Impact:

  • 4th March, 2024: A Western Disturbance, acting as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies, will influence regions including Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Expect isolated to scattered rainfall and snowfall in these areas.
  • 5th – 7th March, 2024: Another Western Disturbance is forecasted to affect the Western Himalayan Region. Prepare for isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall during these days.

Trough in Lower Tropospheric Levels:

  • 4th March, 2024: A trough extending from southwest Madhya Pradesh to North Interior Karnataka will bring isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Sikkim.

Trough in Westerly:

  • Next 5 Days: A trough in westerly, positioned roughly along Long. 92°E to the north of Lat. 25°N in lower tropospheric levels, will lead to isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall and snowfall over Arunachal Pradesh. Expect isolated heavy rainfall/snowfall on 4th March, 2024.
  • 4th & 5th March, 2024: Isolated light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is likely over Assam, Meghalaya, and Nagaland.

Hot and Humid Conditions:

  • Next 2-3 Days: Rayalaseema and Kerala are expected to experience hot and humid weather conditions.
