Weather: Heavy Rainfall Alert Issued for West and Central India

Heavy Rainfall Alert: A cyclonic circulation that was previously over south Chhattisgarh has now shifted to north Madhya Maharashtra and its surrounding regions, extending up to the middle tropospheric level. This weather system is also connected to a trough that runs from north Madhya Maharashtra to north Bangladesh, which is expected to influence weather patterns over the next few days. As a result, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected across Konkan & Goa throughout the week, and similar conditions will be seen over Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat State for the next three days. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted over these areas, especially on September 27th, raising concerns for localized flooding and disruptions.

Heavy Rainfall Alert for East & Northeast India

Northeast India is set to experience consistent rainfall for the next seven days, with fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate showers expected. East India will also see similar weather patterns for the next two days, followed by isolated to scattered rain over the subsequent five days. The states of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Bihar are likely to witness isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall on September 27th. Similar conditions are forecasted for Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya at various intervals, potentially leading to waterlogging and travel disruptions.

Heavy Rainfall Alert: Rainfall Predictions for Central and Northwest India

Central India will experience scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over the next three days, with isolated heavy rainfall expected over West Madhya Pradesh on September 27th and 28th. In Northwest India, Uttarakhand and East Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall over the next three days. Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and surrounding areas will also see scattered showers, while isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecasted for Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and East Uttar Pradesh on September 27th and 28th. This may result in challenging conditions in hilly regions, including potential landslides and road closures.

Heavy Rainfall Alert: Southern India to Experience Scattered Rainfall

South Peninsular India will have scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall throughout the week. Specific regions such as Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are likely to receive isolated heavy rainfall on September 28th and 29th, while Kerala and Mahe can expect similar conditions from September 28th to 30th. South Interior Karnataka and Coastal Karnataka will also experience isolated heavy downpours on September 29th and 30th, respectively. These weather patterns may cause localized flooding and disruptions in these southern regions.
