Weather Update: Heavy Showers Expected in Karnataka and Northeast

Heavy Shower: The well-marked low-pressure area over Northeast Madhya Pradesh and neighboring regions persists, with expectations of intensifying into a depression within the next 12 hours. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-tropospheric levels, potentially affecting the weather across Central India.

Monsoon Trough and Cyclonic Circulations: Heavy Shower

The monsoon trough is active and presently positioned south of its normal course. It is expected to remain so for the next 3-4 days, driving weather systems across the Indian subcontinent. Additionally, a cyclonic circulation over South Gujarat at lower tropospheric levels is influencing local weather conditions.

Southern India is expected to experience widespread light to moderate rainfall over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Lakshadweep. Heavy rains are predicted over South Interior Karnataka and Coastal Karnataka on September 11-12. Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu will experience scattered rainfall throughout the week.

Heavy Rainfall in Northeast and Central India

Northeast India, including Nagaland, Manipur, and Tripura, will witness widespread rainfall with isolated hefty rainfall over Tripura, Mizoram, and Manipur on September 13. Central India, especially Madhya Pradesh, is expected to see significant rainfall, with isolated hefty downpours forecast on September 11.
