Weather Forecast: Heavy Rainfall Expected in East and Northeast India

Weather: The Monsoon trough, which is currently active and situated south of its usual position, is anticipated to gradually move northwards over the next 4-5 days. Cyclonic circulations over Jharkhand and the northeast Arabian Sea, along with an off-shore trough from South Gujarat to Kerala, are influencing weather patterns.

Weather Forecast for West & Central India

West and Central India will experience fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall, with isolated extremely heavy rainfall in Madhya Maharashtra from August 1-3. Very heavy rainfall is predicted for Konkan, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha.

Rainfall in Northwest India

Northwest India, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu-Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi, will see widespread light to moderate rainfall. Isolated very heavy rainfall is expected in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu-Kashmir during the forecast period.

South Peninsular and East & Northeast India

South Peninsular India will have widespread light to moderate rainfall, with extremely heavy rainfall in Coastal and South Interior Karnataka on July 31. East and Northeast India will experience widespread light to moderate rainfall, with very heavy rainfall in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Odisha.
