Widespread light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is expected across Northwest and Central India over the next five days. Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana-Chandigarh, Punjab, and East Rajasthan from July 4th to 8th. Additionally, West Madhya Pradesh is expected to receive heavy rainfall on July 4th and 5th, with East Madhya Pradesh likely to be affected on July 4th. Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh may experience very heavy rainfall on specified dates, with Uttarakhand also at risk of isolated extremely heavy rainfall from July 4th to 6th.
East and Northeast India to Witness Significant Rainfall
A cyclonic circulation over Manipur and another over Bangladesh is anticipated to bring widespread light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning to East and Northeast India over the next five days. Key areas include the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, and northeastern states like Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Isolated very heavy rainfall is expected in these regions on specific dates, with Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya at risk of extremely heavy rainfall.
Rainfall Forecast for South and West India
A cyclonic circulation over Gujarat and an off-shore trough from south Gujarat to Kerala will affect the weather in South and West India. Kerala & Mahe, Lakshadweep, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan & Goa, and Gujarat State are expected to receive widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning. Scattered rainfall is predicted for Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Interior Karnataka, while isolated rainfall is likely for Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Rayalaseema, and Telangana. Heavy rainfall is particularly likely on specified dates in Konkan & Goa, Kerala & Mahe, Karnataka State, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat Region.
