Weather: Several weather systems are currently influencing India’s meteorological landscape. The monsoon trough is positioned close to its normal location at mean sea level, while an offshore trough runs along the south Gujarat-north Kerala coasts. Cyclonic circulations are noted over Odisha, north Madhya Maharashtra, and northeast Assam in the lower tropospheric levels.
Weather: West and South Peninsular India
Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is expected over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala & Mahe, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, and the Gujarat region. Saurashtra & Kutch, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana, and Marathwada will see scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall, while isolated to scattered rainfall is anticipated over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Rayalaseema over the next five days.
Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, and the Gujarat region from July 12-15; Saurashtra & Kutch on July 12; Telangana, Kerala & Mahe, and North Interior Karnataka from July 12-15; Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam from July 14-16; and Rayalaseema on July 15. Additionally, very heavy rainfall is expected over Konkan & Goa, ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka from July 12-16; Kerala from July 13-16; South Interior Karnataka from July 14-16; and the Gujarat region on July 16.
East & Northeast India
Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is forecasted over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, and Northeast India. Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha will experience scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over the next five days.
Heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, and Arunachal Pradesh from July 12-14; Assam & Meghalaya from July 12-16; Odisha from July 13-16; Andaman & Nicobar Islands on July 13-14; and Nagaland and Manipur on July 14-15. Very heavy rainfall is expected over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, and Arunachal Pradesh on July 12, with extremely heavy rainfall over Meghalaya on the same day.
Northwest & Central India
Uttarakhand and Central India will likely see fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning. Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad will experience scattered to fairly widespread rainfall, while Rajasthan will see isolated to scattered rainfall over the next five days. Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi are expected to receive rain from July 12-14.
Isolated heavy rainfall is expected over Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh from July 12-15; East Uttar Pradesh from July 12-14; West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and north Haryana on July 12; Himachal Pradesh and Jammu on July 12-13; East Rajasthan on July 15; and Vidarbha from July 13-15. Very heavy rainfall is also likely over East Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand on July 12.
