- Kerala Coast: Another cyclonic circulation is observed over the Kerala coast in the lower tropospheric levels.
Under the influence of these systems, light to moderate rainfall is anticipated at various places, specifically in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, and Lakshadweep on the 11th of January, with dry weather expected thereafter.
Dense Fog and Cold Day Warning:
- North Rajasthan: Dense to very dense fog conditions are likely to prevail for a few hours in the morning in isolated pockets over North Rajasthan on the 11th and 12th of January, 2024, with a subsequent reduction.
- Other Northern Regions: Dense fog conditions are expected in the morning in isolated pockets over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Mizoram & Tripura during the 11th to 16th of January. Additionally, over the Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, north Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal & Sikkim, dense fog conditions are likely on the 11th and 12th of January.
- Cold Day Conditions: Isolated pockets of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan are likely to experience cold day conditions on the 11th of January, with an expected abatement thereafter.
Temperature Forecast and Cold Wave Warning:
- Central & East India: Minimum temperatures are expected to fall by 2-3°C over many parts of Central & East India during the next 2-3 days.
- Countrywide: No cold wave conditions are anticipated over the country in the next 5 days.
- Uttarakhand: Ground frost conditions are very likely over Uttarakhand on the 11th and 12th of January, 2024.
