Weather Whirl: Thunderstorms, Rainfall, and Hailstorms Forecasted

Weather: The National Center for Seismology delivers a comprehensive weather forecast and warnings update, highlighting various weather systems and their anticipated impacts across India.

A cyclonic circulation over central parts of Madhya Maharashtra and a trough extending from southeast Rajasthan to north parts of Coastal Karnataka are expected to bring scattered rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds to several regions, including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, Telangana, Kerala, and Mahe. Additionally, hailstorm activity is anticipated in isolated areas of West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, & East Madhya Pradesh.

Furthermore, a Western Disturbance is predicted to affect Northwest India, leading to isolated rainfall/snowfall over Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, followed by widespread precipitation during the latter half of the forecast period. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan are expected to experience scattered to widespread rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and the possibility of hailstorms.

In northeast India, a cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam will result in scattered to widespread rainfall/snowfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

The temperature outlook reveals above-normal maximum temperatures in several regions, with heat wave conditions likely in isolated pockets of Saurashtra & Kutch. Additionally, hot and humid weather is forecasted for Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Rayalaseema.
