A 9-foot alligator was spotted on a blocked-off street near Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

Several officers and spectators watched as one officer fashioned a noose from a yellow rope and lassoed it around the top of the gator's mouth.

The alligator whipped its tail and hissed when approached by the officers.

The officers weighed down the alligator's body and taped its legs together behind its back.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission was called in to take the gator to a more suitable home.

An alligator trapper contracted with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Nuisance Alligator Program was impressed with the job done by Tampa's finest before he arrived at the scene.

Law enforcement arrived on the scene before any drivers were injured.
