Africanis  : Must Know it before adpoting this puppy or dog ?

History and Origins:  It is believed to be of ancient origin and derived from the hounds and pariah dogs of Africa, which were first seen in Nice Valley. The Swahili name for the breed is Umbwa wa ki shenji which means simple, hybrid or "traditional dog".

The Africanis can come in any color. The coat is short, hard, and thick or can come in a rare wire-haired type. Some may have a ridge down their back that is called the ridgeback type.

Africanis is a dog that is medium-sized, lightly built, has a long slender muzzle, and usually has a short coat. A cross between a Greyhound, a terrier, and a dingo has been described.

The Africanis are a loyal and courageous breed with tremendous stamina. This animal is very playful and intelligent. Great with kids and very social.

Other pets are compatible with this dog. They are generally patient with kids and love to play.

The Africanis dogs usually require at least an hour to an hour and a half of vigorous exercise per day. While long walks and long hikes are appreciated, these dogs are happiest if they are given frequent opportunities to stretch their legs and really run.

Africanis dogs make great companions as they are extremely intelligent, friendly and loyal, and become very attached to their human owners. Although they can be protective of their loved ones, they are also affectionate and playful.
