Amit Shah and PM Modi Launch Landmark Food Security Initiative
Amit Shah highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's inauguration of the pilot project under the world's largest food storage scheme, marking the commencement of a new chapter in fostering prosperity through cooperatives.
Despite being the world's third-largest food producer, India only manages to store around 47% of its total food production. The launch of the pilot project in 11 states signifies a significant step towards strengthening the nation's food security.
Through collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Cooperation, NCDC, and state governments, the warehouses established under the pilot project will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient storage and distribution of food supplies across the country.
The initiative aims to bolster the agricultural sector by enhancing storage facilities, thereby minimizing food wastage and improving access to food for millions of citizens, ultimately contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the nation.
