Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, or Sagano Bamboo Forest, is a natural forest of bamboo in Arashiyama, Kyoto, Japan. 

The forest, consisting mostly of mōsō bamboo, has several pathways for tourists and visitors. 

The Ministry of the Environment considers it a part of Japan's soundscape. 

Near the Tenryū-ji temple in Japan, the Sagano Bamboo Forest is situated northwest of Kyoto. 

In one of the most temperate regions of the world, it covers an area of 16 km2 (6.2 sq mi). Latitude: 35.009392 Longitude: 135.667007 

The weather in the region is unpredictable, with cool temperatures and bright sunlight. 

The summers are mostly cloudy, hot, and short. The winters are very cold, windy, and partly cloudy in this region. The year is also wet round. 

Approximately two months of summer last from late June until mid-September, with an average daily high temperature above 80°F (27°C).
