Historic G20 Summit: In 2023, Bharat Mandapam hosted the G20 summit, marking the first time that India hosted this prestigious international gathering. The summit took place on September 9-10, 2023.

International Exhibition-Cum-Convention Center (IECC): Bharat Mandapam, also known as Pragati Maidan, is a prominent venue for international exhibitions and conventions. It is part of the ITPO complex in New Delhi, covering nearly 123 acres of exhibition space, making it the largest exhibition center in Delhi.

Government Ownership: This venue is owned, operated, and managed by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), which is a government agency under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

Architectural Significance: The venue was originally opened in 1972 and was designed by renowned architect Raj Rewal. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and was established to celebrate 25 years of India's Independence.

Diverse Facilities: Bharat Mandapam consists of various pavilions, including the Nehru Pavilion, Defence Pavilion, Indira Pavilion, and Son of India Pavilion. It also features an auditorium for hosting rock shows and plays, making it a versatile venue for different events.
