BJP Criticizes Rahul Gandhi's Cambridge Speech on Nationalism

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticized Rahul Gandhi for his speech at Cambridge, where he spoke about the rise of nationalism and the need to counter it.

Ravi Shankar Prasad, a senior BJP leader, accused Gandhi of promoting the "tukde-tukde" (fragmentation) mentality and of disrespecting Indian traditions and culture.

Prasad also criticized Gandhi for his alleged ties with China and accused him of compromising India's national security.

The BJP defended the government's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, and accused Gandhi of spreading misinformation and fear.

The Congress party defended Gandhi's speech and accused the BJP of trying to suppress dissent and stifle free speech.

Several opposition leaders, including Mamata Banerjee and Sitaram Yechury, expressed support for Gandhi and criticized the BJP's response.

The controversy highlighted the ongoing political polarization in India, with the BJP and Congress trading barbs and accusing each other of undermining India's interests.
