Centre and Manipur Government Announce Compensation Packages for Victims of Ethnic Conflict

The Centre and Manipur state government have announced a compensation package for those who lost their lives in the ethnic conflict. 

The compensation amount is Rs 10 lakh, and a job will be provided to one family member of the deceased.

The compensation amount will be equally borne by both the Centre and the state government, reflecting their joint commitment to providing support to the affected families.

Dedicated telephone lines will be set up to dispel rumours and address misinformation, which has contributed to the tense situation in Manipur. 

The meeting chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah has also decided to ensure the availability of essential items such as petrol, LPG gas, rice, and other food products in large quantities.

Home Minister Amit Shah met with women leaders and a delegation of civil society organizations in Manipur, expressing his commitment to ensuring peace and prosperity in the state.

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan acknowledges that challenges persist in Manipur but expresses hope that the situation will settle down with time.
