Chief Minister Distributes Funds for Environmental Project
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma highlighted the distribution of cheques totaling ₹65.36 Lakhs to communities and individuals as part of the Payment for Ecosystem Services pilot project for the Ganol Catchment.
Sangma underscored the involvement of communities and individuals in the restoration and protection efforts of the catchment area. By directly distributing financial support, the government encourages active participation from local stakeholders in environmental conservation initiatives.
Additionally, cheques amounting to ₹87.77 Lakhs were disbursed under the Green Meghalaya initiative across various community members and individuals in the Garo Hills region. This initiative signifies the government's broader commitment to promoting environmentally friendly practices and supporting community-based conservation efforts.
