CM Conrad K Sangma Addresses Annual Koch Conference, Emphasizes Language Preservation and Youth Empowerment

 

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma visited Jatrakona in South Garo Hills to join the 54th Annual Koch Conference organized by the Meghalaya Koch Association, showing solidarity with the Koch brothers and sisters.

Sangma emphasized the importance of preserving indigenous languages during the conference. He assured the community that he would consider their suggestion to introduce the Koch language in schools within Koch areas of Meghalaya.

The Chief Minister acknowledged a memorandum submitted by the Association, focusing on capacity building for the Koch people and language preservation. Sangma committed to looking into these issues to address the community's needs.

Sangma suggested the implementation of youth-focused interventions like PRIME, CM-ELEVATE, and YESS Meghalaya to benefit the Koch community, aiming to empower the youth and contribute to their overall development.
