Congress Manifesto for Karnataka Assembly Elections Promises Ban on Bajrang Dal and PFI, Increased Reservations, and More

The Congress party has released its manifesto for the Karnataka Assembly elections, which promises a ban on organizations that spread hatred such as the Bajrang Dal and the Popular Front of India (PFI).

The manifesto was released by party leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, Siddaramaiah, DK Shivakumar, and G Parameshwara, and promises increased reservations for the Lingayat and Vokkaliga communities, which are dominant in the state.

The party has also promised to increase the reservation quota for Scheduled Castes (SC) from 15% to 17% and for Scheduled Tribes (ST) from 3% to 7%, and to seek inclusion in the Constitution's 9th Schedule.

The Congress has assured that it will consider minimum wages and Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for government employees, and promised 200 units of free electricity, Rs. 2,000 to every woman head of a family, and free state transport bus passes to all women.

The manifesto also promises an unemployment allowance of Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 1,500 for graduates and diploma holders, respectively.

Congress has pledged to form a state education policy to reject the BJP government's National Education Policy (NEP) and wants to amend the Supreme Court's ceiling on reservations to increase it to 75% to accommodate all categories.

The party has also promised to "repeal all unjust laws and anti-people laws passed by the BJP government within one year of coming to power."
