Dharmendra: A legendary actor in the Indian film industry

 

Dharmendra is a veteran Indian actor who was born on December 8, 1935, in Sahnewal, Punjab, India.

He completed his early education at a government school in Punjab and later moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting.

Dharmendra made his acting debut in 1960 with the film "Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere" and went on to become one of the leading actors in Bollywood during the 1960s and 1970s.

He is known for his roles in films such as "Phool Aur Patthar," "Sholay," "Chupke Chupke," and "Yaadon Ki Baaraat," among others.

Dharmendra has acted in over 300 films in a career spanning more than five decades and has won several awards for his contributions to Indian cinema.

He has also tried his hand at film production and has produced several successful films under his banner, Vijayta Films.

Dharmendra has been married twice, first to Prakash Kaur, with whom he has four children, and then to actress Hema Malini, with whom he has two daughters.

In addition to acting, Dharmendra is also involved in politics and was elected as a member of parliament from Bikaner in 2004 on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket.
