ED Seizes INR 24.64 Crore Properties of Poultry Firm Under FEMA

 

Property Seizure: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has recently taken a significant step by seizing six immovable properties located in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Property Owner: These properties, valued at INR 24.64 Crore, belong to M/s Venkateshwara Hatcheries Pvt. Ltd, a company engaged in the poultry business.

Legal Authority: This action has been conducted under the provisions of Section 37A of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999.

ED's Empowerment: Under FEMA, the ED has the authority to take such measures when it suspects that certain transactions or properties are linked to money laundering activities or other legal violations.

Scrutiny of Venkateshwara Hatcheries: The company, Venkateshwara Hatcheries Pvt. Ltd has come under the ED's scrutiny due to suspected irregularities in foreign exchange transactions.
