Evacuated Indians Laud Indian Army and Government Efforts in Sudan Crisis

27-04-2023

Indian citizens evacuated from Sudan under Operation Kaveri have lauded the efforts of the Indian Army and government in their safe return to India.

The evacuees were seen raising slogans in praise of the country, the Army, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi outside the Delhi Airport.

The Indian government has prioritized the evacuation of its citizens, including diplomats, from Sudan amid the ongoing conflict between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

India is the only government that has put more focus on its citizens, including diplomats, while developed countries are primarily focused on diplomats.

So far, at least 534 Indian nationals have been evacuated from Sudan under Operation Kaveri, which involves taking the evacuees to the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah from where they are returning home.
