Ankita Dutta, former Youth Congress President of Assam, accuses IYC Srinivas BV and IYC Secretary in-charge Vardhan Yadav of harassment and discrimination based on gender for six months.
Dutta referred to Srinivas as "sexist" and "chauvinistic" and alleged that despite complaining to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, no inquiry was initiated against him.
The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) issued a press statement accusing Dutta of using "utterly unparliamentary, undignified, defamatory, malicious words" against Srinivas and that her allegations were "politically motivated."
Srinivas sent a criminal defamation notice to Dutta following her accusations, which were widely shared on social media.
The IYC denies the accusations, stating they are "false" and "baseless."
The allegations made by Dutta highlight the issue of harassment and discrimination against women in political parties in India.
The incident has sparked a debate on social media regarding the accountability of political leaders and the need for a safer and more inclusive work environment in Indian politics.
